View 3D Variogram Fans

Variogram fans can be viewed in 3D at any level. When a variogram fan is selected in the project tree the 3D window shows the fan's plane, colour coded by the fan's level and superimposed on the associated drill hole data. 3D variogram planes are shown in the following colours.

  • Horizontal – Red
  • Across Strike – Green
  • Dip Plane – Blue

The dimensions of the circle reflect the calculated maximum separation as set in the Update tab. By default, this is half the distance between the two furthest points in the dataset. See Configure Variogram Update Properties.

When viewing variogram fans in 3D, the fan and at the current level displays with all fans in the previous levels (for example, when viewing the dip plane, the across strike plane and the horizontal plane are also displayed). This allows you to see how the three levels are related.

A fan's direction of maximum continuity is represented by a pink arrow including that direction's dip and dip direction. This arrow corresponds with the same arrow drawn in the variogram fan's graph.

Variogram fans can be viewed in 3D by accessing the 3D Viewer while a variogram fan is selected.
